Michael Roll is one of the leading British pianists of today. He made his debut with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra at the age of ten, and at twelve he played the Schumann Piano Concerto at the Royal festival Hall, London, with Sir Malcolm Sargent.
His international career was launched when he won the first prize at the first Leeds International Piano Competition. He is now widely recognised as one of the finest interpreters of Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert and Schumann. Major orchestras such as Boston Symphony, London Philharmonic, London Symphony, Royal Philharmonic, Philharmonia, BBC Symphony, Rotterdam Philharmonic, Gewandhausorchester, have invited Michael Roll as soloist. He has worked with many of the great conductors. He has appeared at leading festivals such as the Proms, Aldeburgh, Bath, Edinburgh, Granada, Hong Kong and the Klavier-Festival Ruhr in Germany. Michael Roll has given recitals in centres such as London, Edinburgh, New York, Milan, Leipzig, Berlin and Dresden. |
