Jerome Rose, one of America's most distinguished pianists, has been heard in the major concert halls across five continents. A Gold Medalist from the international Busoni Competition, his recordings of Franz Liszt for Vox have been awarded the Grand Priz du Disque from the Liszt Society of Hungary and the Hungarian Ministry of Culture has conferred on him the Fransz Liszt Medal. Mr. Rose has appeared with such orchestras as the Berlin Philharmonic, Munich Philharmonic, Budapest Philharmonic, Vienna Symphony, and Santa Cecilia in Rome. A frequent visitor to London, he has appeared with the London Philharmonic, London Symphony, and the Royal Philharmonic. In addition, he has been soloist with most major U.S. orchestras such as the Chicago Symphony, Baltimore Symphony, Atlanta Symphony, Houston Symphony, and San Francisco Symphony. Conductors he has appeared with include Sir George Solti, Sir Charles Mackerras, Wolfgang Sawallisch, Stanislaw Skrowaczewski, Sergiu Comissiona, David Zinman, and Hans Vonk. A graduate of the Mannes College and the Juilliard School of Music, Jerome Rose studied with Leonard Shure and at Marlboro with Rudolf Serkin. As a pupil of Adolph Baller, he debuted, at 15, with the San Francisco Symphony. His studies took him to Vienna as a Fulbright Scholar. A teacher as well as a performer, the artist is the author of the series called "The Virtuoso", published by CPP-Belwin. He has given Master Classes around the world including the Moscow Conservatory, Chopin Academy, Warsaw, Liszt Academy, Budapest, and the Munich Hochschule. He is on the faculty of the Mannes College of Music in New York and serves as Artist in Residence at Bowling Green State University in Ohio.
